Ghanaian winger Kamaldeen Sulemana has officially bid farewell to Southampton FC following his high-profile move to Italian Serie A side Atalanta BC.
The 22-year-old completed the switch last week in a deal reportedly worth €17.5 million, with an additional €4 million in performance-related bonuses, marking his first foray into Italian football.
Sulemana took to social media on Wednesday to express gratitude to Southampton, thanking the club for its role in his growth and development.
“Through the highs & lows, Southampton FC have been a family. Together, we’ve grown through what we’ve been through. For the lessons & development, I wish you the best this season & the future. Thank you, Saints. March on Saints!!” he wrote on X.
Sulemana joined Southampton in January 2023 from Stade Rennais for a then club-record fee. In his brief but eventful spell, he featured in 34 Premier League games, scoring five goals and providing two assists. Despite Southampton’s relegation that season, the Ghanaian speedster stood out with his pace, flair, and fearless dribbling—qualities that quickly caught the eye of Atalanta’s recruitment team.
His transfer now reunites him with former Southampton boss Ivan Juric, who recently took over at Atalanta. The move presents an exciting new chapter for Sulemana as he aims to make a strong impact in Serie A and return to continental competitions.

Ghana’s former Vice President joins nation in celebrating Kudus’ £55m Premier League transfer
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has hailed Mohammed Kudus’ impending move to Tottenham Hotspur, calling it a proud moment for Ghana as one of the nation’s brightest footballing stars takes a major step forward in his career.
The Ghana international is on the verge of completing a high-profile £55 million transfer from West Ham United to Spurs, with a medical scheduled in the coming days. Kudus is expected to sign a six-year deal with the North London club.
Reacting to the news on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Dr. Bawumia — a self-professed Tottenham fan — shared his joy:
> “I am excited to see our Ghanaian starboy make this move to my Spurs. All the best in your medical, Mohammed Kudus.”
Kudus joined West Ham from Ajax in 2023 for £38 million and quickly made an impact in his debut season, scoring eight goals and providing nine assists across all competitions. In the Premier League alone, the 24-year-old featured in 35 matches, scoring five times and assisting four goals.
His contract at West Ham runs until 2028 and contains a multi-tier release clause which opened earlier this month — with values ranging from £80 million for non-English clubs to a hefty £120 million for suitors from Saudi Arabia.
Now, as Tottenham gear up for a return to the UEFA Champions League, Kudus’ European pedigree — honed at Ajax — is seen as a critical asset. His flair, versatility, and goal-scoring instincts are expected to boost Ange Postecoglou’s attacking options significantly.
Ghanaians across the world, including top political figures like Dr. Bawumia, are watching with pride as one of their own prepares to light up the Premier League in new colours.

Just days after Tottenham’s historic Europa League final triumph over Manchester United, chairman Daniel Levy was already setting the next stage of the club’s evolution into motion. As confetti from the Bilbao celebrations still lingered in the air, Levy quietly informed key decision-makers that he was determined to make a marquee signing in attack—a player who could symbolize the club’s renewed ambition.
Initially, conversations at Hotspur Way revolved around the future of manager Ange Postecoglou. But Spurs’ silverware breakthrough had sparked new belief—and Levy saw a rare chance to build on momentum.
Fast-forward six weeks, and Tottenham have landed one of the most high-profile transfers of the summer: Mohammed Kudus.
The Ghanaian playmaker completed a sensational switch from West Ham United, crossing the London divide in a move that reflects both his personal ambition and Spurs’ growing hunger under newly-appointed boss Thomas Frank.
Kudus, who had been on the radar of Europe’s elite after a strong season, became increasingly drawn to Spurs’ vision over the past fortnight. West Ham, facing mounting financial concerns, had initially hoped for a bigger windfall—but ultimately had to respect the player’s desire to play in the Champions League.
According to a Flashscore insider report published on June 25, Kudus and the Hammers were never truly aligned in their goals. While West Ham were keen to cash in, Kudus was clear: he wanted a move that matched his competitive ambitions.
Now, with the dust settling on his transfer, it’s clear this was more than a cut-price deal—it was a calculated leap into a project that promised opportunity, trophies, and a seat at Europe’s top table.

Mohammed Fuseini has described his first start – and first goal – for the Black Stars as a moment he will cherish forever, calling it a “dream come true” after helping Ghana to a dominant 4-0 win over Trinidad and Tobago in the Unity Cup held in London.
The 23-year-old Union Saint-Gilloise forward made his full debut for Ghana during the international friendly in May 2025, just days after earning his first cap off the bench against Nigeria.
“It was a dream come true for me to start my first game for the national team, and it was also a dream come true to get my first goal,” Fuseini said in an interview with Sportsblog247.com.
His goal capped off an impressive team performance at the Brentford Community Stadium and added to what has already been a breakthrough year for the Ghanaian attacker.
Fuseini is fresh off a stellar campaign with Belgian champions Union SG, where he netted 11 goals and contributed three assists to help the club secure the 2024/25 Jupiler Pro League title — and a historic qualification to the UEFA Champions League.
Reflecting on his international outing, Fuseini credited head coach Otto Addo for encouraging him to express himself on the pitch.
“Otto Addo just told me to go out there and do my thing. I hadn’t played as a winger in a long time, so it was a bit difficult for me, but I gave it my all.”
His goal, and overall display, has certainly bolstered his case for a regular place in the national team setup ahead of Ghana’s upcoming competitive fixtures.

Ghanaian forward Mohammed Fuseini has thrown down the gauntlet ahead of the 2025/26 Belgian Jupiler Pro League season, boldly declaring his ambition to emerge as the league’s top scorer.
Fresh off a summer move from Austrian side Sturm Graz to reigning Belgian champions Union Saint-Gilloise, the 23-year-old striker is gearing up for a defining campaign — both domestically and in Europe. With the club set to feature in the UEFA Champions League group stage, Fuseini is determined to seize the spotlight.
Speaking to Joy Sports, the Black Stars attacker expressed confidence in his abilities and outlined his goals for the season.
> “I just hope we start the season really well because last season we didn’t start well,” Fuseini said. “I want to be the top scorer of the league, score a lot of goals in the league and the Champions League.”
The ambitious forward is also targeting a strong first half of the season, aiming to bag between 10 and 15 goals before the winter break.
Having finished last season with 11 goals and three assists in a two-striker formation, Fuseini believes he’s ready to hit new heights with Union SG, especially as they return to European competition with high expectations.
With his eyes on the Golden Boot and the Champions League stage, Mohammed Fuseini is a name to watch in the upcoming season.
