In a major update from FIFA, the winner of the FIFA Club World Cup will now proudly wear a newly designed champions badge on their shirt — and not just for a year, but for four consecutive seasons!
Unveiled here for the very first time, this exclusive badge serves as a golden mark of global dominance in club football. It’s more than just embroidery — it’s a symbol of supremacy on the world stage that will shine on kits from stadiums to streets until the next champion is crowned.
The extended 4-year badge duration reflects the revamped Club World Cup format, now held every four years, making this emblem even more prestigious.
Who will earn the right to wear it? The race is on.

Tijjani Reijnders might be a Dutch international with no Nigerian heritage, but there’s an unexpected Super Eagles twist to his name. Born to parents who were die-hard Ajax fans, Reijnders was named after none other than Tijani Babangida — the electrifying Nigerian winger who lit up the Amsterdam Arena in the late ’90s.
Though there’s no family tie to Nigeria, Reijnders’ name is a tribute to the impact Babangida made on football fans across the world. It’s a story of admiration, legacy, and how a footballer’s brilliance can inspire across continents — even to the point of naming a child after them.

FC Kaiserslautern have bolstered their defense with the signing of promising Ghanaian centre-back Maxwell Gyamfi ahead of the 2025/26 season. The 25-year-old, who was born in Germany to Ghanaian parents, joins from VfL Osnabrück on a free transfer after an impressive campaign in the 3. Liga.
A product of Borussia Dortmund’s esteemed youth system, Gyamfi has steadily built a reputation as a dependable and dynamic defender. His standout performances last season, where he featured in 33 matches for Osnabrück, caught the attention of the 2. Bundesliga outfit, who now hope he will be a key figure at the Fritz-Walter-Stadion.
“FCK is simply a big name in German football,” Gyamfi shared after signing. “I believe this move is the right next step in my career. I’ve followed the club for a while and am excited to be part of its journey.”
Sporting director Marcel Klos was equally enthusiastic about the acquisition. “He was among the best players in the third division last season. His speed and dynamism are perfect for our playing style and for the challenges of the second division.”
Though he has yet to be capped internationally, Gyamfi remains eligible to represent Ghana, adding to the growing pool of dual-nationality players potentially available to the Black Stars.

Raymond Asante delivered a game-changing performance off the bench to help Sporting Charleroi secure a 2-1 win over OH Leuven in the Belgian Conference League playoffs on Saturday.
The 21-year-old Ghanaian midfielder, on loan from an Italian club, came on after halftime and quickly made his presence felt. With his slick passing, clever movement, and relentless energy, Asante became the driving force behind Charleroi’s second-half surge.
Statistically, Asante was exceptional. According to FotMob, he was the most accurate passer among players who featured for 45 minutes or more, boasting a flawless 100% pass completion rate. He was also the most fouled player in the match, drawing three fouls, and contributed an expected goals (xG) factor of 0.03.
His influence did not go unnoticed, as he was named Man of the Match — a notable accolade for a player who didn’t even start the game. The former Young Apostles FC talent has been a standout in Charleroi’s U23 setup this season, scoring seven goals in 14 appearances.
With performances like this, Charleroi may look to keep Asante beyond his loan spell as they push for a spot in UEFA’s Europa Conference League.
