The Black Stars of Ghana are set to receive a significant boost as six more players join their training camp today, Tuesday, May 27, ahead of the high-stakes Unity Cup semifinal clash against arch-rivals Nigeria.
The incoming players — Ebenezer Annan, Mohammed Salisu, Aaron Essel, Ibrahim Sulemana, Felix Afena Gyan, and Mohammed Gadafi Fuseini — will complete the squad as they intensify preparations for Wednesday’s encounter at the GTech Community Stadium in Brentford, West London.
Training kicked off on Monday with 16 players participating in the first session. Among them were goalkeepers Lawrence Ati-Zigi, Benjamin Asare, and Joseph Tetteh Anang, along with key outfield players such as Gideon Mensah, Razak Simpson, Mamudu Kamaradini, Caleb Yirenkyi, and Abdul Salis Samed.
Also present were midfielders Abu Francis, Majeed Ashimeru, Lawrence Agyekum, and Christopher Baah Bonsu. The attack was led by Jordan Ayew, Brandon Thomas-Asante, and Kwame Opoku, with defender Stephan Ambrosius also in the mix. Abdul Aziz Issah later joined the squad on Monday evening.
The Unity Cup semifinal clash between Ghana and Nigeria is scheduled for Wednesday, May 28. The winner will progress to face either Jamaica or Trinidad and Tobago in the grand final on Saturday.
