When Kevin Danso arrived at Tottenham Hotspur from Lens in the January transfer window, he knew he was stepping into a club with great expectations. Now, just a few weeks into his Spurs journey, the Austrian-Ghanaian defender is already setting his sights on European glory.
Danso, who has quickly adapted to life in North London, has featured in five matches across all competitions and is brimming with confidence ahead of Tottenham’s Europa League Round of 16 showdown against AZ Alkmaar.
For the 25-year-old center-back, winning silverware with Spurs is not just a dream—it’s a mission.
“I think Spurs is a big club, and we have the chance to play in Europe. That is where Spurs belong,” Danso said in an interview ahead of Thursday’s first-leg clash.
“That is what we want to achieve every season—continuing to add to the history, hopefully with some trophies. That is what we are setting out to do. It starts tomorrow by coming out and trying to win the game.”
But is winning the Europa League truly within reach? Danso believes so.
“100%, and I think it’s possible,” he declared. “I said before the United game that with the week of training we had, and some of the injured lads coming back, there was a lot of positive energy around the place. We ended up winning that game and keeping a clean sheet.”
That sense of momentum is what Spurs hope to carry into their clash with AZ Alkmaar on March 6, 2025. A strong performance in the first leg could set the tone for a deep run in the competition.

Appiah, a former Black Stars coach, reportedly avoided a scheduled meeting with Sudan FA Vice President Osama Atta Al-Mannan after recently visiting Ghana. His absence casts a shadow over Sudan’s preparations as they prepare for crucial Group B clashes against Senegal on March 18 and South Sudan on March 24.
Despite the Sudan FA’s efforts to resolve the financial dispute, tensions remain high. The team, currently leading Group B with 10 points after four matches, has also scheduled a friendly against Jordan. They are set to move to Libya on March 17, just days before the qualifiers resume.

The Black Damsels of Ghana continued their remarkable run in the UEFA Development Tournament, delivering a dazzling 5-0 victory over Northern Ireland.
