Joseph Aidoo’s battle with injuries has taken another unfortunate turn, as Real Valladolid has confirmed that the Ghanaian defender will be out for up to three weeks with a hamstring issue.
The setback occurred during Valladolid’s crushing 7-1 defeat against Athletic Bilbao, where Aidoo was forced off in the 65th minute. Scans later revealed a right hamstring strain, ruling him out for at least two weeks.
This latest injury adds to a difficult period for the 28-year-old, who suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon last October while on international duty with Ghana. That devastating injury kept him out for months, and despite working his way back to fitness, he struggled for game time at Celta Vigo.
Seeking a fresh start, Aidoo joined Valladolid in January, eager to help the club fight relegation and revive his career. However, just as he was settling into regular football again, his progress has been halted once more.

Veteran football administrator and King Faisal owner, Alhaji Karim Grusah, has voiced his concerns over Ghana’s chances of qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, citing the team’s recent struggles on the international stage.

Veteran football administrator Alhaji Karim Grusah has made a shocking revelation, alleging that the Ghana Football Association (GFA) demanded a 50% kickback from the $100,000 allocated to each Black Stars management committee member during the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
In an interview with Sporty FM, the King Faisal owner claimed that after receiving the funds, he was approached by GFA officials who requested that half of the amount be given to unnamed individuals who did not travel to Qatar.
“I was the one who made it public that we received $100,000 because some people didn’t want it to be known. After the money was given to us, the GFA asked for a 50% kickback. They said it was to be shared with people who didn’t go to the World Cup, but that was not the original arrangement,” Grusah stated.
His disclosure has reignited debates about financial transparency within the GFA, especially following Ghana’s disappointing World Cup campaign. The Black Stars bowed out at the group stage, securing only one win against South Korea while losing to Portugal and Uruguay.
