Nora Hauptle’s tenure as head coach of Ghana’s Black Queens has come to an amicable end following her decision not to renew her contract with the Ghana Football Association (GFA). Despite widespread calls for her to remain, Hauptle revealed that critical elements needed for sustained success were missing, which ultimately influenced her decision. Addressing the situation in an interview with Swiss media outlet 20 Minutes, the 41-year-old shared:
“It wasn’t easy to give up the project. My contract was running out at the end of the year, and we had discussions. But a few pieces of the puzzle that were relevant to my success weren’t clear. I can’t just make compromises, but nothing happened. We are parting on good terms, with a lot of respect for each other.”

Liverpool manager Arne Slot has confirmed that young defender Jarell Quansah is set to return for Saturday’s FA Cup tie against Accrington Stanley after recovering from an illness.

Veteran coach tasked with reviving Ghana’s U17 football fortunes
In a bold move to revitalize Ghana’s U17 national team, the Black Starlets, the Ghana Football Association has named Frimpong Manso as the new head coach. The veteran tactician, who is also the head coach of Bibiani GoldStars, takes over from Laryea Kingston, who vacated the position during the Africa U17 Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Manso’s appointment marks a return to familiar territory. Between 2009 and 2010, he served as head coach of the Black Starlets, and earlier as an assistant coach. He also previously worked with Ghana’s U23 team, the Black Meteors. His vast experience includes stints with top clubs such as Asante Kotoko, Karela United, Stade d’Abidjan, and Medeama SC (formerly Kessben FC).
The Black Starlets have struggled in recent years, failing to qualify for the Africa U17 championship since their second-place finish in 2017.
