Ghanaian winger Ibrahim Osman has revealed that he sought advice from his compatriot Tariq Lamptey before deciding to join Brighton and Hove Albion.
The two players bonded during the Black Stars’ World Cup qualifiers, where Lamptey provided valuable insights about the city and the club.
In an interview with TV3, Osman said: “It was great being with him in the Black Stars camp… he has been telling me about the city and the club.”
Osman is also excited to reunite with Simon Adingra, a former teammate from the Right to Dream Academy, who now plays for Brighton.
Reflecting on their shared history, Osman said: “It was only a few years ago when we were walking the streets of the academy as young footballers with big dreams, and now we will be playing together at the same club.”
Osman has been in touch with Adingra, who has shared his positive experiences at Brighton.
Expressing his eagerness to reconnect with his old friend and get started at the new club, Osman said: “I can’t wait to connect with them at the club and get going.”

Ghanaian sensation Ibrahim Osman has revealed his reasons for choosing Premier League club Brighton and Hove Albion as his next destination, highlighting the club’s dedication to developing young talent.
The 19-year-old winger signed a long-term contract with Brighton for a fee of around €1.5 million, departing from Danish Super Liga side FC Nordsjaelland.
“I have been watching Brighton for quite some time, and I believe they have a similar style of play to FC Nordsjaelland,” Osman said in an interview with TV3. “I think it’s a hub for nurturing talents, and that’s why I chose Brighton over other clubs.”
Osman, who scored 10 goals and provided eight assists last season, made his debut for the Black Stars in March and is enthusiastic about his new chapter at Brighton.
“I’m looking forward to learning and growing as a player,” he added. With Brighton’s pre-season starting on July 21, Osman is eager to get started.
