Ghanaian goalkeeper Joseph Anang has rejoined St Patrick’s Athletic following the expiration of his contract with English Premier League side West Ham United. Anang has signed a two-and-a-half-year deal with the Irish club ahead of the 2024/25 season.
The Ghanaian-born England youth international previously spent six months on loan at St Patrick’s in 2022 before returning to West Ham, where he was part of the squad that won the UEFA Conference League the following season. After seven years with limited first-team opportunities at West Ham, Anang has now left the club on a permanent basis.
“It’s very good to be back at the club. St Pat’s is where I played most of my senior games in my career so far, and I feel I played my best football at Pat’s during my loan in 2022. I really enjoyed my time here, so I’m very excited,” Anang told the club’s official website.
“The move came about very naturally. I always kept in touch with Pat Jennings (GK coach) after I left, having chats back and forth. So as soon as he heard that I was available, he got back in touch, and we had a conversation with Ger O’Brien and my agents about what a move back here could mean for me,” he added.

Former Ghana Premier League star Jamal Deen Haruna has completed a transfer to FC Sogndal IL in Norway’s first division, as confirmed by Sportblog247.com.
The 24-year-old defender has signed a three-year contract, making the move from Raufoss IL in the Norwegian second division. Haruna, who previously played for Great Olympics FC in Ghana, made 27 appearances during his debut season there.
After joining Raufoss last year, Haruna became an integral part of the team’s defense at Nammo Stadium, playing a total of 46 matches across various competitions. His performances included three encounters against Sogndal, where he made a notable impact in the Norwegian OBOS-ligaen.
Known for his strong defensive abilities and scoring two goals, Haruna adds a physical presence on the field. He will join his new teammates for the remainder of the Norwegian first division league, where Sogndal currently holds the 6th position with 23 points after 14 matches.
With just one game left in the first half of the season, Haruna is expected to bolster Sogndal’s defense. His football journey began with the Tudu Mighty Jets academy team in Ghana, followed by stints at Wa All Stars and Great Olympics, both top-tier clubs in Ghana.

Brighton & Hove Albion and Leeds United are both vying for the signature of Ghanaian forward Edmund Baidoo, who has been making waves in Norway’s second-tier league with Sogndal Fotball.

Rwandan Premier League giants APR FC have secured the services of former Asante Kotoko midfielder Richmond Nii Lamptey on a two-year deal, according to Sportblog247.com.
Lamptey joins APR after his contract with Kotoko expired, concluding a successful three-year stint with the club. During the recently ended season, he made 17 league appearances and provided five assists, highlighting his crucial role for the Porcupine Warriors.

Vision FC has officially appointed Nana Kweku Agyemang as their new head coach in preparation for their debut in the Ghana Premier League. Agyemang, who signed a two-year contract, was unveiled by the club on Tuesday.
Taking over from Hamza Obeng, who led the team to a historic promotion, Agyemang steps into the role due to Obeng’s lack of the necessary qualifications to coach in the Premier League. Obeng will continue to support the team as an assistant coach.
“I am very happy to be here. I look forward to working with a very talented group of players and coaching staff to develop a team that continues the club’s tradition of success and makes our fans happy and proud,” Agyemang expressed on the club’s official website. “I’m very impressed with what I’ve seen and heard from my visit to the club. Agyemang, a University of Calgary graduate with a Bachelor of Arts, has a proven track record of improving teams and maximizing player development. Before joining Vision FC, he led the Ghana National U-17 side to a fourth-place finish in the WAFU Zone B Championship held in Ghana.
