Bofoakwa Tano goalkeeper Emmanuel Kobi has yet to decide on his next move despite receiving interest from several clubs in the Ghana Premier League.
Kobi was a standout performer for Bofoakwa Tano, but he could not prevent the Bono-based club from being relegated after finishing 17th in the 2023/24 season.
Bofoakwa Tano also fell short in the MTN FA Cup final, losing 5-4 on penalties to Nsoatreman SC on Sunday. Despite these setbacks, Kobi has garnered attention for his impressive performances and has received offers from several top-flight clubs.
In an interview with Akoma FM, Kobi confirmed the interest from various clubs but emphasized his commitment to his current contract with Bofoakwa Tano. “Yes, I have been contacted by a number of teams, including Hearts of Oak, Aduana Stars, Samartex FC, Gold Stars, and Vision FC. As of now, Asante Kotoko has not called me,” Kobi stated.
Kobi explained that he has put the transfer discussions on hold to focus on the FA Cup finals. “I’m here to listen to their offers after telling them to hold off on the conversation due to the FA Cup finals. To be honest, these are all excellent teams that will aid in my professional development,” he said.
While acknowledging the support from his family for Hearts of Oak, Kobi remains undecided about his future. “Even though my entire family supports Hearts of Oak, I must admit that I haven’t decided which club to join and that I am still under contract with Bofoakwa Tano, so I will entrust everything to God,” Kobi added.
As the transfer window progresses, Kobi’s decision will be closely monitored, with several clubs eager to secure his services for the upcoming season.

Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak are both in pursuit of Bofoakwa Tano captain Saaka Dauda.
Despite Dauda confirming that he has received calls from Kotoko but not from Hearts of Oak, Ghanasoccernet reports that the Phobians are also interested in the forward.
The two rival clubs are set to battle for Dauda’s signature, as the attacker looks to leave Bofoakwa Tano despite having two years left on his contract.
“Yes, as of now, I have spoken with no one from Hearts of Oak, but I have received calls from Asante Kotoko,” Dauda told Akoma FM. “Kotoko are a big team, so I would really love to play for them.”
“Looking at the players, board, and owner, it is clear that this is a great team, and if the deal is completed, I will be grateful to God for providing me with such a big platform,” he added.
“I still have two years left on my contract, so Kotoko and Bofoakwa will need to come to an agreement before I can join.”
The 24-year-old scored eight goals in the past season, contributing significantly to Bofoakwa Tano reaching the MTN FA Cup final, although his efforts were not enough to prevent the club’s relegation.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is on high alert following the announcement that HervĂ© Renard, coach of the French women’s team, will leave his position after the Paris Olympics 2024.
This news has excited top NFF officials, who view Renard as a prime candidate for the vacant Super Eagles coaching role.
Sources close to the NFF have revealed to AfricaSoccer.com that the federation is actively pursuing the 55-year-old Frenchman for the Nigeria job.
Renard is reportedly eager to return to Africa, where he has previously enjoyed significant success.
Renard boasts an impressive track record in African football. He led Zambia to victory at the Africa Cup of Nations in 2012, repeated the feat with Ivory Coast in 2015, and took Morocco to the World Cup.
His extensive experience and proven success make him an ideal fit for the Super Eagles.
The NFF is currently seeking a new coach following the departure of Finidi George. Renard’s departure from the French women’s team presents a tantalizing opportunity for the NFF to secure a highly accomplished coach with a deep understanding of African football.
Renard’s ability to build strong teams and his familiarity with the African football landscape would be invaluable to the Super Eagles.
While the NFF is expected to face stiff competition for Renard’s services, securing him would be a significant coup for Nigerian football.
With Renard at the helm, the Super Eagles are poised to become a formidable force in African football once again.
The NFF must act swiftly to make this appointment a reality, as the potential for success under Renard is undeniable.

Ethiopian forward Abubeker Nassir is reportedly poised for a trial with Ghana Premier League side Asante Kotoko.
The 24-year-old recently departed South African club Mamelodi Sundowns and has been invited by Kotoko for assessment.
Asante Kotoko, aiming to strengthen their squad after a disappointing, trophy-less season, view Nassir as a promising addition.
He will undergo a one-week trial, with the potential to join the squad if he impresses the technical team.
Nassir, known as the “Golden Boy” of East African football, left Sundowns after injuries limited him to 18 appearances, during which he scored four goals.
He previously excelled in Ethiopia’s top league, scoring 29 goals in 22 matches and winning the MVP and Best Young Player awards for the 2021-22 season.
Nassir also represented Ethiopia in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. His trial with Asante Kotoko is expected to commence this week.
