Ghanaian winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku registered his first assist in the English Premier League during Leicester City’s 1-1 draw against Tottenham Hotspur. The 21-year-old, making his EPL debut, delivered a precise left-footed cross from the right flank, setting up Jamie Vardy for the equalizer in the 57th minute.

Ghana’s Blessed Nunoo delivered an impressive performance at the 2024 World Armwrestling Championship in Chisinau, Moldova, finishing 4th in the 60kg Junior Girls left arm category after narrowly missing out on the 3rd place spot. This achievement marks the best performance by a Ghanaian at the championship so far, with Nunoo set to compete in the right arm category on Monday, August 19.
The Golden Arms of Ghana are represented by a strong team, including double gold medallists and African champions Grace Minta of the Ghana Police Service, Edward Yamoah Asamoah of the Ghana Immigration Service, and civilians Blessing Abeka Nunoo and Godwin Sackey. The team is led by Head Coach Nii Otoo Larkyne, accompanied by Husseini Akuetteh Addy, Head Referee for the Armwrestling Federation of Africa, and Ms. Abigail Fremah, a senior referee.
Ranked 19th in the world and second in Africa, the Ghanaian team is striving to secure its first World Championship medal after a successful run at the 13th African Games in Accra, where they won 41 medals. Meanwhile, Charles Osei Asibey, President of the Ghana Armwrestling Federation and Vice President of the World Armwrestling Federation, was honored by the global body for his contributions to the sport’s development on Sunday. The championship, hosted by the Moldovan National Sport Federation of Armwrestling (FNSARM), is the largest global gathering of armwrestlers under the leadership of President Alexandru Grumeza and General Secretary Ms. Anna Belenciuc.

The much-anticipated boxing event, dubbed the âGolden Handsâ bill, is set for September 14, 2024, at the Tree House Restaurant in Labone, Accra. The event, promoted by Swavy Blu in collaboration with Legacy and Shiatse Promotions, will feature Ghana’s undefeated Daniel Gorsh, the UBO Africa and LBO Super Bantamweight Champion, as he challenges Beninâs Ghislain Vodounhessi for the WBO Africa Bantamweight Title.

Ghanaian forward Mohammed Fuseini showcased his confidence in penalty-taking after scoring a decisive spot-kick that secured Union Saint-Gilloise’s 1-0 victory over Sporting Charleroi in the Belgium Jupiler Pro League. Fuseini, who joined the Belgian club this summer, coolly converted the penalty in the 93rd minute to clinch the win on Saturday.
In a post-match interview, the 22-year-old emphasized that penalty-taking is one of his key strengths, expressing his ability to handle pressure in crucial moments. “Taking penalties has always been one of my assets,” Fuseini stated. “When I’m at the spot, I don’t feel the pressure.
