Samuel Obeng Gyabaa, a former Ghana U23 forward, has joined Casa Pia AC, a Primeira Liga club in Portugal, on a free transfer. The 27-year-old striker made the move after parting ways with Spanish side Real Oviedo earlier this summer, where he had struggled to meet expectations since joining in 2019. Although Casa Pia announced the signing on their social media channels, they did not disclose the contract’s duration. However, reports from A Bola suggest that Obeng has signed a deal running until 2026. Obeng, who previously played for Girona FC B and represented Ghana at the U23 Africa Cup of Nations in 2019, is yet to debut for the Black Stars. This transfer marks a fresh start for him as he aims to regain his form and make an impact in Portugal’s top-flight league.

Bolton Wanderers have completed the signing of English-born Ghanaian defender Jordi Osei-Tutu on a two-year contract, making him their seventh addition of the summer transfer window. The 25-year-old wing-back joins from VfL Bochum for an undisclosed fee and will enhance Ian Evatt’s options on the flanks for the upcoming season.
Osei-Tutu began his career at Reading before moving to Arsenal’s academy in 2015, gaining valuable experience through loan spells at Cardiff City, Nottingham Forest, and VfL Bochum. His successful stint at Bochum during the 2019-20 season saw him score five goals and provide three assists in 22 appearances.
After contributing to Rotherham United’s promotion and scoring a key equalizer in the Papa Johns Trophy final, Osei-Tutu spent last season with PAS Giannina in Greece.
Praised by Ian Evatt for his athleticism, dribbling skills, and 1-v-1 threat, Osei-Tutu is expected to make a significant impact at Bolton. He will wear the number 14 shirt as he enters the prime years of his career.

In a surprising turn of events, former Asante Kotoko striker Francis Andy Kumi has signed a two-year deal with Medeama SC, bypassing a near agreement with Hearts of Oak just 48 hours prior. This move by Medeama SC, known for their strategic acquisitions, marks a significant boost to their squad ahead of the upcoming season.
Kumi, who previously scored nine goals for Kotoku Royals in the 2022-23 Ghana Premier League season, made a brief move to Serbian side FK Radniki Nis, where he became the club’s top scorer despite their relegation. After a stint with OFK Vrsac in Serbia, Kumi returns to the Ghana Premier League as a free agent.
His addition is expected to strengthen Medeama’s attacking lineup as they gear up for both the Ghanaian league and FA Cup competitions.

Moldovan Superliga club Spartanii Sportul has secured the signing of 21-year-old winger Isaac Oppong as a free agent. Oppong, who was recently released by Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko, joins Spartanii Sportul after a challenging season with the Kumasi-based club.
During his time with Asante Kotoko, Oppong made 15 appearances, netting two goals and providing two assists. His performances were hampered by injuries, which ultimately led to the club’s decision to release him as part of a squad overhaul.
Oppong was part of the Asante Kotoko team that won the Ghana Premier League title in the 2021/22 season under coach Prosper Narteh Ogum. However, injuries and inconsistent form affected his subsequent seasons, contributing to Kotoko’s sixth-place finish in the league and two consecutive trophyless seasons.
Spartanii Sportul is optimistic that Oppong will inject fresh energy and creativity into their squad as they aim to make an impact in the Moldovan Superliga.
