Team Ghana has settled into their new base at the University of Ghana in Accra as anticipation builds for the 2025 CAF African Schools Football Championship, kicking off on Wednesday, April 23.
Having wrapped up their initial preparations at the Ghanaman Centre of Excellence in Prampram, both the boys’ and girls’ teams are now training just a stone’s throw from the tournament venue — the University of Ghana Stadium — where all the action will unfold.
This year’s championship marks the third edition of Africa’s premier U-15 football tournament, a growing platform that continues to spotlight the continent’s emerging football talents. With the home crowd behind them, Ghana’s young stars are determined to shine brightly on the continental stage.
The girls’ team will face fierce competition in a group that includes Benin, DR Congo, Gambia, Malawi, Morocco, South Africa, and Uganda. Meanwhile, the boys’ team prepares to battle heavyweights such as Algeria, Côte d’Ivoire, DR Congo, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, and Uganda.
The official group stage draw is scheduled for Monday, April 21, at the MultiChoice Ghana Limited head office in Accra. Football legends Asamoah Gyan of Ghana and Ivorian coach Clementine Toure will assist in unveiling the groupings.
With the tournament running from April 23 to 26 and the grand finale set for Saturday, Ghana will be aiming to leverage their home advantage and spirited squad to capture the ultimate prize.
