Black Satellites head coach Desmond Ofei has confidently declared his team’s readiness for any scenario as Ghana prepares to face hosts Egypt in the quarter-finals of the 2025 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations.
Speaking in a pre-match interview, Ofei stressed that the team is mentally and tactically prepared for not just regulation time, but also for extra time and penalties, if needed.
“They [the players] want to show Ghana that they are the future of our football,” Ofei said. “Tomorrow, they will give their best. We are prepared for anything—extra time, penalties, whatever comes. But we are coming into this with a clear game plan, and we aim to execute it with strength and belief.”
With a place at the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup on the line, the stakes are high. But the coach’s calm and calculated confidence reflects the spirit of a side hungry to restore Ghana’s dominance in youth football.
The much-anticipated clash kicks off at 3 PM on Monday, May 13, at the Suez Stadium. A win would not only secure a semi-final berth but also guarantee Ghana a ticket to the World Cup.
