Ghanaian defender Alexander Djiku has emerged as a key transfer target for French Ligue 1 sides OGC Nice and Toulouse following an impressive campaign with Turkish giants Fenerbahce.
The 30-year-old centre-back played a crucial role under manager José Mourinho, featuring in 38 matches across all competitions and finding the back of the net once. His consistent performances and leadership at the back have not gone unnoticed, especially by clubs seeking to bolster their defence ahead of the 2025/26 season.
Djiku, who joined Fenerbahce in the summer of 2023 after leaving Strasbourg, has quickly become an integral figure at the heart of the Turkish club’s defence. His experience in Ligue 1, where he previously captained Strasbourg, has reportedly drawn the attention of Nice and Toulouse.
OGC Nice, preparing for a return to UEFA Champions League football, are said to be particularly keen on acquiring the Ghana international to reinforce their squad. Toulouse, meanwhile, are also pushing for his signature as they aim to strengthen their backline ahead of the new campaign.
Despite the interest, Djiku remains under contract with Fenerbahce until the summer of 2026, meaning any potential move would require serious negotiations.
