Liverpool have slapped a £40 million price tag on promising centre-back Jarell Quansah, with growing interest from top European clubs, including Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen.
The 22-year-old defender, who is of Ghanaian heritage, is not officially on the transfer list, but The Athletic reports that the Reds are open to doing business should the right offer arrive.
Though Quansah served mostly as backup to established centre-backs Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konaté last season, his talent hasn’t gone unnoticed. Liverpool’s coaching staff rate him highly, believing he possesses the potential to grow into a top-level defender.
Despite this internal belief, the young defender is reportedly eager for more consistent first-team opportunities — a factor that may influence his decision during the summer window.
“Quansah wants more minutes and could be open to the right move,” the report said, hinting at a mutual understanding between player and club should a suitable bid be tabled.
With the transfer window heating up, Liverpool now face a critical decision — hold on to a future star, or cash in while interest peaks. One thing is certain: Jarell Quansah’s next move could shape the next phase of his career.
