Ghana head coach Otto Addo is expected to announce his Black Stars squad for the upcoming Unity Cup next week, according to the Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Henry Asante Twum.
The highly anticipated four-nation tournament is scheduled to take place later this month in the United Kingdom, with Ghana set to face fierce West African rivals Nigeria in the semifinal at the Gtech Community Stadium, home of English Premier League side Brentford. The match will kick off at 19:00 GMT on Tuesday, May 28.
The winner of that clash will go on to face either Jamaica or Trinidad and Tobago in the final on Saturday, May 31, at 12:30 GMT.
Speaking to Sportsblog247.com, Asante Twum confirmed that preparations are in motion for the squad list to be made public, and fans can expect to see some fresh faces among the usual core group.
“I know the technical team is considering how to approach this Cup. There will be some fresh additions while keeping the core of the team,” he stated. “Possibly by next week, the coach will announce his team, and if we have local players, they will join the local contingents and move directly to London to begin preparations.”
Meanwhile, reports from local media suggest that Asante Kotoko duo Andrews Ntim Manu and Kwame Opoku are likely to join the squad, alongside Kamaradini Mamudu, Razak Simpson, and Ghana’s current number one goalkeeper Benjamin Asare, as part of the local contingent traveling to the UK.
With the tournament providing an opportunity to test new talent and build team chemistry, all eyes will be on Otto Addo’s squad announcement as Ghana intensifies preparations for this international showdown.

Kevin Danso is still basking in the glory of Tottenham Hotspur’s historic Europa League victory, marking the club’s first major trophy in 17 years. The Austrian-Ghanaian defender played a part in Spurs’ 2-1 win over Manchester United in the final held in Bilbao, coming on in the final ten minutes to help secure the win after Brennan Johnson’s decisive goal.
Danso, currently on loan from French club RC Lens, joined Tottenham in January with high hopes — and a clear mission: to win silverware. That dream became a reality on a memorable European night as the North London side not only lifted the Europa League trophy but also booked a spot in next season’s UEFA Champions League.
Taking to social media after the match, an elated Danso posted: “Living the dream. Europa League winners 2025.” He followed it up with a heartfelt message: “Europa League champions!! 40+ years in the making, forever grateful to be part of this great team. Glory to God.”
With his loan spell set to end on June 30, 2025, Tottenham have the option to make his stay permanent — a decision that may be influenced by his contributions to this landmark season.

Ghanaian winger Ibrahim Osman is back at Brighton & Hove Albion after completing a fruitful loan spell at Dutch side Feyenoord. The 20-year-old, who joined the Eredivisie giants in the second half of the 2024/25 season, is set to rejoin the Seagulls for pre-season preparations as he eyes a place in Roberto De Zerbi’s Premier League squad.
Feyenoord confirmed Osman’s departure in an official statement, acknowledging the contributions of Osman and fellow loanees Hugo Bueno and Facundo González. The trio was honored during the club’s end-of-season event at their training ground, with head coach Robin van Persie and general manager Dennis te Kloese expressing gratitude for their efforts.
“As a memento of their season in De Kuip, they received a beautiful, personal photo plate,” Feyenoord stated, marking the end of a season in which they lifted the Johan Cruijff Shield, reached the UEFA Champions League Round of 16, and finished third in the Eredivisie—securing a Champions League preliminary round spot.
Osman made 32 appearances for the Rotterdam club, contributing four goals and three assists. His explosive pace, creativity, and versatility in the attack proved vital in Feyenoord’s campaign, enhancing his reputation as one of Ghana’s rising stars.
On the international front, Osman has already been capped twice by the Black Stars, underscoring his growing influence in the national setup.
Now back in England, Osman will aim to break into Brighton’s first team and compete at the highest level of English football. His return bolsters the Seagulls’ attacking options and offers further promise for both club and country.

Ghanaian international Tariq Lamptey will play no part in Brighton & Hove Albion’s final Premier League clash of the season against Tottenham Hotspur, as the right-back has been ruled out due to injury.
The 24-year-old sustained a knee injury during Brighton’s match against Wolves—just weeks after recovering from a foot problem—and was absent from the squad that clinched a thrilling 3-2 victory over Liverpool on Monday. His absence will now extend into the final fixture of the 2024/25 Premier League campaign.
Lamptey’s season has been blighted by fitness concerns, limiting him to just 15 Premier League appearances. Despite the setbacks, he managed to score two goals and provide two assists. Across all competitions, he featured 20 times and contributed directly to five goals.
With his contract set to expire in June and no signs of a renewal on the table, the pacey full-back could be on his way out of the Amex Stadium this summer, leaving his future in doubt as transfer speculation looms.
