Just a year ago, Mohammed Kudus was dazzling the Premier League with his flair, explosive dribbling, and eye for goal. His debut season at West Ham United had all the makings of a fairy tale — 14 goals, nine assists, and a hero’s welcome in East London after a £38 million switch from Ajax. He was the spark the Hammers didn’t know they needed.
But fast forward to this season, and the story has taken a sharp turn.
The 24-year-old Ghanaian midfielder is now a shadow of the player who lit up the London Stadium. Week after week, Kudus has struggled to find rhythm or make a real impact. His performance against Southampton was perhaps the clearest sign yet — hesitant, lacking his usual edge, and visibly short on confidence.
Some point fingers at his fitness routine, suggesting he may be focusing too much on bulking up at the gym rather than fine-tuning his explosiveness and agility. Others believe it’s a mental block — the pressure of expectations weighing heavily on his shoulders.
West Ham fans, who once saw him as a marquee signing, are beginning to lose patience. And with the summer transfer window looming, murmurs of a potential departure are growing louder. If a club is willing to pay upwards of £50 million, West Ham might be tempted to cash in.
The question now is: Can Kudus turn things around in the few games left this season, or has his West Ham journey already reached its turning point?

The Black Satellites of Ghana have officially kicked off their final preparations for the 2025 U20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) with their first training sessions in Cairo, Egypt.
Following their arrival from Accra on Saturday, April 19, the team wasted no time getting down to business. On Sunday, April 20, they held two tactical training sessions at the Jewel Plaza Sports facility, conveniently located just steps away from their hotel at the Jewel Plaza Complex.
Under the guidance of head coach Desmond Ofei, the sessions were light but focused—aimed at easing the players into what promises to be an intense build-up to the tournament. All 16 players in the initial travelling party took part, with six more expected to arrive in the coming days to complete the squad.
As the days progress, the Black Satellites will shift into more demanding sessions, sharpening their strategies ahead of the opening game.
Ghana, drawn into Group C, faces a tough challenge with defending champions Senegal, DR Congo, and the Central African Republic all vying for a top spot. The Satellites will open their campaign against DR Congo on May 2.
The tournament, featuring 13 nations, kicks off on April 27 and runs until May 18. Importantly, the top four teams will earn qualification to the 2025 FIFA U20 World Cup in Chile, making every match a crucial step toward global recognition.

Frank Junior Adjei lit up the Swedish Allsvenskan with a breathtaking goal on Sunday, but it wasn’t enough to prevent IFK Varnamo from falling to a dramatic 3-2 defeat against IF Brommapojkarna.
On an afternoon where Varnamo searched desperately for their first point of the season, it was the Ghanaian midfielder who stood tall with a moment of magic. Known for his tireless energy and flair, Adjei brought life to his side with a thunderous long-range strike just past the hour mark, a goal that turned the tide of the match, albeit temporarily.
The game had started on a sour note for Varnamo, as Brommapojkarna took the lead in the 27th minute through Alex Timossi Andersson. Things worsened early in the second half when young Ghanaian sensation Ezekiel Alladoh finished off a sweeping move with a powerful left-footed shot to make it 2-0.
But Adjei, formerly of Bibiani Gold Stars, wasn’t ready to roll over. From well outside the box, he let fly a rocket that left the goalkeeper rooted, cutting the deficit in style and injecting belief into the Varnamo ranks.
That belief bore fruit in the 83rd minute when Simon Thern curled home a sublime free-kick to draw level. Just when it seemed Varnamo would escape with a well-earned point, heartbreak struck in stoppage time as Kaare Barslund netted the winner for Brommapojkarna.
Despite the result, Adjei’s performance was a major positive. Now in his third season in Sweden, the midfielder continues to grow in influence, and Sunday’s strike will surely be one to remember.
