The future of several seasoned players in the Black Stars squad seems uncertain as Coach Otto Addo begins discussions with key figures like Captain Andre Ayew, Deputy Captain Thomas Partey, and defender Daniel Amartey. Addo aims to shift the team’s focus towards nurturing young talent rather than relying heavily on senior players. While the veterans are expected to feature in upcoming FIFA World Cup Qatar 2026 qualifying matches against Mali and the Central African Republic, their roles in future selections could diminish. Emerging talents like Mohammed Kudus, Antoine Semenyo, Kamaldeen Sulemana, and Tariq Lamptey are expected to take on more significant responsibilities within the team. Addo’s plan to announce the squad during his recent visit to Ghana may be delayed, possibly due to scheduling conflicts, but forthcoming fixtures against Mali and the Central African Republic loom.

Hamburger SV has confirmed the departure of defensive talent Stephan Ambrosius at the conclusion of the current season, marking the end of his remarkable 12-year tenure with the club.
Ambrosius, who hails from Ghana, embarked on his journey with HSV at the age of 13 after transferring from FC St. Pauli. Displaying immense promise, he swiftly ascended through the ranks and made his Bundesliga debut at the age of 18 under the guidance of former coach Christian Titz.
Regarded as one of the most promising young defenders in the German second tier, Ambrosius was anticipated to play a pivotal role in the club’s reconstruction efforts. However, his progress was hampered by two severe knee injuries, impeding his development and limiting his contributions to the team.

TSG Hoffenheim announced on Tuesday that they have reached a mutual agreement with Ghanaian defender Kasim Nuhu Adams to part ways as his contract with the Bundesliga club has come to an end.
Adams, aged 28, joined Hoffenheim in 2018 from BSC Young Boys in Bern. However, his time at the club was marred by injuries, which restricted him to just 13 Bundesliga appearances in his debut season.
In search of more regular playing time, Adams was loaned to Fortuna Dusseldorf for the 2019/20 season. His most recent loan spell was with FC Basel during the 2022/23 season, where he played a significant role in helping the Swiss side reach the semi-finals of the Conference League.
Alexander Rosen, the club’s managing director, acknowledged the disappointing outcome of Adams’ tenure, stating, “Regarding Kasim, it’s clear that the collaboration didn’t meet the expectations from a sporting standpoint for both parties.”
“While his time with us lacked notable sporting achievements, his professionalism and conduct remained exemplary throughout.”
During his time at Hoffenheim, Adams made 29 Bundesliga appearances, three DFB Cup appearances, two Champions League appearances, and four Europa League appearances.

Ghanaian striker Jonathan Sowah showcased his exceptional talent for Al-Nasr Benghazi in a thrilling match against Al Hilal Benghazi in the Libyan Premier League. Sowah’s remarkable performance saw him net four goals, leading his team to a commanding 6-3 win at the Martyrs of Benina Stadium in Benghazi.
The former Medeama SC standout displayed his scoring prowess with two well-converted penalty kicks and two sublime strikes, completing his impressive tally in the matchday 17 fixture.
Sowah wasted no time, opening the scoring just three minutes into the game from the penalty spot. He quickly doubled Al-Nasr’s lead with another successful penalty kick three minutes later.
Continuing his dominance, the 25-year-old completed a first-half hat-trick with another goal just before halftime. His scoring spree continued in the 72nd minute, contributing significantly to his team’s victory.
Additional goals from defender Mohamed Eshtewi and Tunisian player Mohamed Ali Jouini sealed the resounding win for Al-Nasr, further solidifying their position atop the league standings with 37 points.
Sowah’s stellar display extends his impressive record since joining Al-Nasr from Medeama in January, having now scored five goals and provided an assist in just seven appearances.
Reports indicate that Sowah’s outstanding form has earned him a call-up to Ghana’s squad for the upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Mali and the Central African Republic.
