Asamoah Gyan, the former captain of the Black Stars, believes that the forthcoming All Regional Games will play a vital role in uncovering sporting talent throughout Ghana.
Scheduled to include various disciplines, the championship aims to rejuvenate grassroots sports across all 16 regions of the country.
Each region is tasked with hosting trials to select their most promising sportsmen and women, who will then compete against representatives from other regions.

“This event will draw people away from the streets; it’s here to stay,” remarked Gyan in an interview with Asempa FM. “It’s a recurring project that will keep individuals engaged and motivated.”
He added, “Now is the time for people to discover their talents and pursue them professionally. This initiative will benefit Ghana in the long run.”
The organizers are gearing up to officially launch the competition during a press conference slated for April 9.

Gold Medalist Mohammed Aryeetey Reveals Struggle to Join Ghana’s Boxing Team for African Games
Mohammed Aryeetey, the gold medalist at the 2023 African Games, has disclosed the challenges he faced in securing a spot on Ghana’s boxing team for the competition. Aryeetey admitted that he had to “plead” with the Ghana Boxing Federation to include him in the team after finding out there was no slot allocated for him.
